Grooming

Please make sure your groomer has experience grooming doodles and is "doodle friendly". Sadly there are both groomers and vets who will snub doodles because they are a mixed dog. The best way to find a groomer is by reference from someone who has a doodle. When you make the appointment and tell them you have a doodle, make sure to pay attention to the sound of their voice. If they sound irritated at all, call someplace else. You want to make sure your dog has a good experience at the groomers. When you drop them off, look around, you can even ask to see the back room.

At 7 to 12 months your doodle's adult coat will start to come in. Your puppy should need their first grooming around 5 or 6 months. The average doodle needs to be groomed about every 10-12 weeks. Long doodle coats are beautiful, but they are more upkeep.
