Microchip

At Cliberdoodle, each doodle puppy is microchipped while they are sedated for their spay or neuter surgery (at 7 weeks of age).  We use Avid microchips which are safe, reliable and the #1 choice.  This service is included in the price of your puppy (view complete price list).

When you take your doodle puppy home, you will receive a complete Puppy Packet which will include instructions for activating your puppy's microchip in your name.  It is very important that you submit that information.  If your puppy is ever lost and ends up in a shelter, rescue organization, or vet's office, they will scan to check for a microchip.  Your puppy's chip number will appear and they will be able to contact you. Please note that this does not replace a collar and tag -- you still should have that on your puppy with your name and phone number as that is the fastest way for your dog to be returned to you. The chip is a permanent identification so that your dog can be returned even if its collar is lost.

Furthermore, because the chip is registered in your name, microchips also provide proof of ownership.

If you would like more information on the microchip, Microchip ID answers frequently asked questions.
